How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home
Buying a ring online comes with one big worry: what if it doesn't fit? It's the number one reason people hesitate before adding a ring to their cart. The good news — measuring your ring size at home is easy, and with adjustable rings you can skip the guesswork entirely.
Here's everything you need to know.
Method 1: Use a ring you already own
The simplest way. Take a ring that already fits the finger you have in mind, then:
- Place it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter in millimetres
- Compare that number to a ring size chart (below)
This is the most reliable at-home method because the ring is already proven to fit.
Method 2: The string or paper strip method
No ring to measure? Use a strip of paper or string:
- Wrap it snugly around the base of your finger
- Mark where it overlaps
- Lay it flat and measure the length in millimetres — that's your circumference
- Match it to the chart
Tip: measure at the end of the day, when your fingers are at their largest, and measure the actual finger you'll wear the ring on (your dominant hand is usually slightly bigger).
Quick size reference (European sizing)
- Circumference ~49–50mm → EU size 50
- Circumference ~52mm → EU size 52
- Circumference ~54mm → EU size 54
- Circumference ~56mm → EU size 56
- Circumference ~58mm → EU size 58
(Sizing charts vary slightly by brand — use them as a guide, not gospel.)
The easiest answer: adjustable rings
Here's the secret most people don't realise — you can avoid the whole measuring process. Almost all of our rings are adjustable, meaning the band is open at the back and gently expands or tightens to fit most fingers.
Why that matters:
- No wrong sizes — one ring fits a wide range of fingers
- Perfect for gifts — you don't need to know someone's exact size
- Comfortable all day — loosen it slightly if your fingers swell in heat or after a salty meal
- Wear it on any finger — index, middle, ring — adjust and go

How to adjust your ring safely
Adjustable rings are easy to resize by hand, but a gentle touch keeps them looking their best:
- Open or close the band slowly, using even pressure with both hands
- Avoid bending it back and forth repeatedly
- To make it smaller, ease the ends closer; to size up, widen gently
Which ring style should you choose?
- For an everyday, understated look → a slim Minimal Ring
- For a pop of colour and character → a Stone Ring
- To wear several at once → stack a couple of slim adjustable bands
Still unsure? Choose adjustable.
If it's a gift, or you simply don't want to measure, an adjustable ring is the safest choice — it takes the sizing worry away completely. Every ring is hypoallergenic, under €16, and made for everyday wear.
